Project: Standard — Conclusion

“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.” —Proverbs 19:21 (NIV)

You might be confused as to why we are concluding our first ever Project, and we’ve only listed 10 standards, instead of 20. If you can remember (let’s refresh our memory for a bit), at first we had a whopping list of 34 standards (which unfortunately got lost in the sea of deleted screenshots). Then, we drafted it again and the list were cut short to 20. And through the months, we (well I tried to, lol) completed 10 Standards. At first I was wondering why the list got lost, that maybe there is a purpose for it – and then I realized, it really has a purpose – for me to come up with the ultimate Standard.

I know you have drafted and personalized Project: Standard, and is unsure if you are still to keep them now that we will be having the ultimate standard? My dearest, you are free to keep them and take a good look at it from time to time – because I would still keep my list and really take it into consideration. But, just a word of caution, never to use the standard we made against someone and them judge them in the process, as I’ve said on our first post – only God can see a person’s heart and motive. Another is not to create out of this world standards that would set unrealistic expectations (i.e. must have a car – or alike). We are still to submit to God’s will and let Him work in our lives – pray for each standard that we will be listing.

Now, of all the standards we’ve listed, I’ve generalized it to one ultimate standard. This standard almost covers all the aspects we must look out for a future spouse. Are you ready to know out ultimate standard? Well, I am (insert big grin here)!

In 1 John 4:8 it says “Anyone who does not love does not know God because God is love.” (ESV). And solely base on this verse out ultimate standard is (drumroll please) He must first love God, above all else. That’s it? But why that only? Good question! Because if our future spouse loves God more than any other then we could be sure that they have experienced true love through God and is overflowing with it. I mean, let’s face it, this person wouldn’t be understanding and patient if they don’t love God. They’ll struggle that’s for sure, but with God’s grace and help, the willingness to selflessly do this would not be questioned. They won’t be able to reflect loyalty let alone integrity if their walk with God is not consistent. I’m not saying they should have a perfect relationship with God – no one would have that – They, more over we, are imperfect, and there would be times they would have a hard time showing these traits. But because they love God first and their walk with Him is close, surely his intentions towards you would be pure and pointing to the right path – marry you and not play any games (more so your heart). If their heart is right with God – everything will fall into its proper place. That’s it, it’s as simple as that.

Again, a word of caution, we should still ask God for discernment – and not immediately jump to a relationship just because we thought they love God. Always, and I mean always, we should be careful, wise and prayerful.

Our ultimate standard is not only good for men, but also for us, women. We must be busy chasing after God rather than focusing our attention and effort to our future spouses who is not yet here. Remember Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”. Let this season be the time to learn that only God can complete us (Colossians 2:10).

So, from 34 to 20 to 10 and to just one. Let us remember to give our full trust to God. I’ll reiterate our verse above “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.” —Proverbs 19:21 (NIV)

Thank you for reading and closely following our first ever project. I hope and pray it has helped you and blessed you in any way that it can. I know there is a purpose as to why you have stumbled upon my blog. And if in any way you have been inspired or blessed, please feel free to share it to your friends.  Let us give glory to God, the creator of the stars.

I pray that we are to have a willing heart to be transformed by His grace and love, and as a result we can turn the world upside down. See you on our next project. God bless!

To God be the glory!

-end-
